Array People like me who have come to US to study or work for a while are inevitably faced with this question, should we stay in the US or return to India for good. A very huge percentage of them every year take the decision to stay back in the US for good and only visit India once in two years. You can call it the observations of a clear mind or the rantings of a confused mind….Abundunt money, a high quality life, new activities not possible in India, quality of work, dignity of labor, a suave, stylish lifestyle, are, to name few attractions (mentioned by Vikram) which greet people when they set foot on this land of opportunities. What is it that I miss here, that I can find only at home, in India, which compels me to return. Food, used to be a strong motivation for many people back in earlier times, but now you cannot complain of food as a reason for pulling people back to India because whatever you find in any roadside chat corner or dhaba or Saravanna Bhawan, you find it here in the US. I have found all kinds of happiness here in United states, from seeing wonderful places to experiencing thrill and fun as I can never imagine in India. Stay here until you get a green card and return to India. Why so, because, his parents enjoy US and want to stay here more than they want to be in India. Giving weightages (priorities) to different values will change the decision whether to stay in the US or stay in India. factor)*A (money situation factor) * B (Career situation factor)*C ( Future Interest factor) * D (India disliking factor)*E (any other factors) *F - ( parents situation factor) *Z -(I love India!! factor) * Y - ( other factors)*X.If decision greater 1, stay in US,if decision less than 1, go to Indiaif decision==1, go stay in Africa :)Well as you can see, a typical engineers brain at work.

I read some of the articles about Web 2.0, Library 2.0 and the future of libraries. All I know is that everything changes and so just as alway libraries will adapt.

With all the growing technology and the demand getting greater and greater from our patorns (who are getting smarter and smarter), it is so much easier to obtain the needed information from the internet using all the knowledge we are learning in this class! There are so many TYPES of libraries from: institutions, documents or materials, subject matter, user services and the traditional professional divisions, reaching acedemic, schools research, public and public lending libraries just to name a few.

It turns out that this was the house of Lourdes, Maria’s sister who had visiting the night before and shared Margarita’s with B. We were heading back out on Ruta Puuc to see some lesser known ruins. We were actually very, very fortunate that Juan knew of these places and we were being afforded the opportunity to see places most tourists don’t even know exist. Maybe they had had enough ruins for awhile too. What a great drive it was to the ruin of Chacmultan. The route wound around hairpin turns, over and around large hills with the great views again. Further down the narrow dirt road that we were parked on was a long chamber building. Since it had recently rained, the road ahead was covered with water. As I stuck my head in one of the chambers, I disturbed a nest of bats and they flew about overhead. As we were discussing whether or not to continue on the road and make the climb to the large building on the hill in the distance, Lizzie started to cry. They would wait for the rest of us to go explore the last ruin.Mickey and family situated themselves in the back seat and we headed out down the road. It was a muddy, bumpy, narrow two track road that cut through the jungle, winding its’ Once we were on the road, we totally lost sight of the ruin in the distance and had to keep an eye out for a turn off to it. As we passed around one hairpin turn, we saw a likely looking path leading up the hill. At this point, the road started to go downhill again. This road was incredible. It was more like off roading than anything else. The road was so narrow, and the jungle so close, I could not do a three point turn. Bouncing and jostling along, and trying to avoid the big boulders in the road, we eventually got back to the path we needed. I let everybody out and forced the Jeep into the jungle, just in case another vehicle should come along this road.

It seems that, not surprisingly, libraries of the future will be user-centered facilities where the needs of the user will take top priority, and planning and implementing will be accomplished with the user in mind.

Array The tired old cliches are all here and the list of those is endless - apart from a few decent SFX shots this creaking heap of garbage will soon be available on DVD to buy - Expect to see it in the Remainder Bin at your local Video Store for about £2.99 when they can’t shift any copies or stumble over a stack of 300 or so shoved by the counter in an HMV shortly covered in dust.

There will be people who reject Jesus and people who embrace him. Embracing Jesus leads to a raising up out of sin and an eternal life of joy. Are you willing to accept the changes Jesus will bring into your life? Will you accept or reject what Jesus wants to do in your life? This Christmas Eve, spend some time celebrating the change Jesus brings into your life.

The apostle John testified In Him was life, and the lifewas the light of men (John 1:4)During this week, as we commemorate the birth of the Lord Jesus, let’s be mindful of how much brighter this worldis because He came into it. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life (John 8:12) How has Jesus brightened your Life ?

If Kevin Durant just misses the tying shot in regulation, Tennessee wins by 2 and I get the cover. I can feel it.When Kevin Durant and Greg Oden figure out just how dominant they can be, whoooo nellie!Watching part of the Cincinnati-NC State game, I had the feeling I was watching two NIT teams.Boston College can’t shoot the three. If they get overwhelmed in the post, as they did by Kansas, they’re toast.I’d really like to see a Wisconsin-Florida game at some point this season.—There’s no NCAA games today, so I’ll just fold the Week 16 NFL picks into this post. Thirty games to go in the regular season. The rundown:Washington ( 1) to win over St. Louis. Under 43.5.Tampa Bay ( 3) to win over Cleveland. Over 36.5.NY Giants (-3) to cover over New Orleans. Under 47.5.New England ( 3) to win over Jacksonville. Under 36.San Francisco (-3.5) to cover over Arizona. Under 46.Cincinnati ( 3) to win over Denver. Eagles ( 7) to cover.

It also looks as if Terry Collins, a dark horse who has cropped up on the elusive short list, deserves serious consideration.Collins has the first prerequisite for the Royals’ managerial search: He’s managed (and won) in the big leagues. As a rule, do veteran managers make more of an impact? To examine this question, we looked at the managerial records for the last 15 seasons. There were 44 rookie managers and 41 veteran managers during this period. To measure the effect of the two groups, we looked at the two seasons before the managerial change, then the two seasons after the change, including the new manager’s first season with his team. Teams that rolled the dice on unproven managers dropped an extra 71 games in the aggregate for a -1.6 EFF162.Twenty-six of 41 (63 percent) veteran managers had a positive effect on their new team. One of these wins was against a Shaq-less Heat and the other win was only by 1 point (Nov. 26: 78-77).But, the Pistons do know how to apply the pressure needed to take down Wade. In the Apr. 10th win, Wade was kept to a season-low scoring game and was only able to land 5 points before being fouled out.

Accurate on all counts but one (only my three loyal readers and my husband know which one).My typology group is…Enterpriser Based on your answers to the questionnaire, you most closely resemble survey respondents within the Enterpriser typology group. This does not mean that you necessarily fit every group characteristic or agree with the group on all issues. Bush’s most reliable supporters (just 4% of Enterprisers did not vote) Party ID81% Republican, 18% Independent/No Preference, 1% Democrat (98% Rep/LeanRep) Media UseEnterprisers follow news about government and politics more closely than any other group, and exhibit the most knowledge about world affairs. In the overall typology there is a ninth group called “Bystanders” who are defined as adults who are not registered, who do not follow news about government and public affairs, and who say they rarely or never vote.Carnaby’s Note: Hard to believe, but true, I am also an Enterpriser.

41:5 Everyone has heard the Lord’s challenge, to come to the God vs. 44:19 None of these people has the power of mind to realize that they themselves constructed these idols out of the everyday things of their lives: half of this wood I burned for heat, I cooked over it. Am I now going to go against the living God and make another god out of the wood that is left, and then bow down to it and worship? People with idols are ignorant. People that pray to gods that cannot save are ignorant. There’s no one like me, no God but me, your savior.

-ne This installment of The Variance Trap compares two similar development process simulations. To simulate variations in productivity the simulation system throws a die for each process stage, for each tick of the simulation system clock. The yellow line represents a simulation with a six-sided die. The 1d3 2 process has less variance than the 1d6 process. The flow is steadier, with less inventory build up during a simulation run.The implication is that if we can reduce the statistical fluctuations in a software development process, we can increase the productivity.Let’s take stock of what we have learned so far:Because of statistical fluctuations, a an unregulated development process will be slower than the slowest of the process steps.

Baghdad Soldiers from 1st Battalion, 23rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, worked Sunday to increase the overall quality of health care provided to Iraqi citizens at a medical operation in Baghdad’s Ghazaliyah neighborhood.Local doctors, who work at a centrally located clinic in Ghazaliyah, treated residents with support from MND-B personnel as part of Operation Together Forward. The medical operation was the third offered to the residents of Ghazaliyah since Operation Together Forward brought Soldiers attached to 1st Armored Division into the area Aug. 13.This operation was notably different from those that preceded it.“This operation (was) entirely Iraqi run,” Although they killed Mr. Mahmoud, they cannot kill the vision he shared with the Iraqi people of a stable, secure, and unified Iraq.We pledge to work with and support the Government of Iraq and Iraqi Security Forces to capture and prosecute these murderers with the swiftest justice afforded under the Iraqi law. -ne The early team-by-team evaluation of the 2006 season. After the Sixth week of action, every team has played a minimum of five games and so it is possible to come up with an assessment and rank the teams according to their chances, at this point, of reaching SuperBowl XLI. The teams can be ranked in three to five groups: The Double-Digit Losers: These are the teams that have no business beating anybody outside of their group, and no team that considers itself a contender should even have a close game against them. The group of shame in no particular order: Oakland (A legitimate look at a winless season), Miami (Joey Harrington is their starting QB), Cleveland (The close loss against Baltimore could have changed their season), Tennessee (Travis Henry is a great back that never gets his dues), Houston (The are still building, actually they are rebuilding (whatever)), San Francisco (A franchise with no signs of life whatsoever (unless you like fantasy football)), Arizona (Just wait, next is year is the year (right)), Green Bay (the main attraction for the next two years is Brett Favre breaking some records (great)), Detroit (maintaining the streak of 2000 consecutive losing seasons), Tampa Bay (Bruce Gardkowski actually gives them a better chance (Wow)), Washington (The same dysfunctional franchise), and Buffalo (played a couple of close games, but you give the Lions their first win and you belong with them). Of course since we are all professionals here, and since the NFL is the game of parity and “Any Given Sunday” (not the movie) some of these teams will show some signs of life every now and then (especially in the first quarter), but so far the overall picture indicates that for any of the above teams a 5-win 2006 season is a successful campaign. The Contenders: Teams that will reach double digit in the win column and that has showed so far that they have what it takes to be playing in January. As of the end of Week 6 the most impressive teams, in descending order: -Chicago:Wins: GB, DET, MIN, SEA, BUF, ARI.Losses: None. The lineup of victims is not impressive at all, but the fact that they blew out some teams and fought to win some games when they did not play their best give them the top spot. However the win against Minnesota is the one that gave them the confidence that they can win even when they do not play their best, as proven by the crazy game against Arizona (which of course they were lucky to win).Rex Grossman grabbed national attention for the way he played and managed to come back with a big play against Minnesota on a day when he almost cost them the game, but the six turnovers against the Cardinals was a reality check for him. After the first two easy wins they were dominated by the Jaguars running game (Jags held the ball for 40 minutes), came back against the Jets and scored the winning TD in the last minute and survived the 15 laterals on the Jets last play, and came back against the lowly Titans scoring 2 TDs in the second half. The benefited from opening against two could/should-beat teams, then they fed off the festive atmosphere of the Monday night game and beat a one-dimensional Atlanta team. The Hawks surprised them with the running attack (252 yards on the ground), and against the Vikings they threw the game away with the stupid trick play on the punt return and lost in overtime (and they still could not stop the Vikings running game). The game against Baltimore was their best offensive display of the year, but their running game still ranks in the middle of the pack. Their win against Dallas and the Pittsburgh shutout on Monday night were very impressive, but the loss against Washington dropped them here, especially that their defense allowed 36 points to a struggling Redskins offense. Darrell Jackson is their best receiver this year (maybe until Deion Branch gets familiar with the team), and with the absence of Alexander they are running a 4-wide receiver set that proved effective against the Giants and Rams.On defense, they retained every starter and added Julian Peterson (28 tackles and 4 sacks), so they have no reason not to play at a high level. It is even worse this year, since they cannot run the ball (Jamaal Lewis is washed up, and they refuse to give Mike Anderson and Musa Smith bigger roles), and even their All-Pro TE Todd Heap is not playing at his pre-injuries level. The defense is still loaded with names, but they struggled to stop the run against Denver when neither team was getting anything in the passing game on a rainy night. The loss to New Orleans came in a very close game against a very good team, but it definitely exposed some of the Eagles problems.Although their offense is ranked first in the league behind Donovan McNabb who is having an MVP-type year, they are still ignoring the concept of running the ball. It was a big achievement for this team to go into the SuperBowl champions home and get a win (which was handed to them by the three back-to-back turnovers and a couple of critical Big Ben picks), but the reality check followed against the Patriots and the lowly Buccaneers (they may have lost to TB on a couple of bad calls, but it should not have been that close in the first place.)Carson Palmer looks like he overcame the knee injury, the pass rush is getting to him much more this year, and with injury to LT Levi Jones protection may get worse. Despite the fact that they opened with a tough schedule and they are sitting at a 3-2 record, and despite the win against the Eagles (that they lucked into) and a win over the overrated Falcons, the blow out against Seattle may have showed that this team may just not be that good.Tiki Barber picked up where he left last year and he is their MVP. -St. Louis:Wins: DEN, ARI, DET, GBLosses: SF, SEAHow can a team that has a win against a big team (DEN), plays another one that close (SEA) and still ranks here? Surviving a last minute drive inside their 8 against the Titans, falling short of a comeback against the Patriots, getting a win against Buffalo despite allowing a 150 rushing to Willis McGahee and two 100 receivers, and suffering a late choke against the Colts. There is always the chance of a lousy team winning three straight against other lousy teams and all of a sudden it is the media darling and the “true” contender.Five weeks from now some dramatic changes are bound to happen on these rankings and that is why they play the game.

-ne One of the many youngsters to be talked of as the next George Best, Terry Cochrane inevitably failed to live up to the early hype, but did make a telling contribution to Northern Ireland’s footballing history…Name: Terence George CochraneBorn: 23 January 1953, KillyleaghHeight: 5.07½ At Coleraine, under the tutelage of former Northern Ireland boss Bertie Peacock, Cochrane developed into a fine winger and was capped for the first time in October 1975 against Norway. In October 1976 Cochrane moved to Burnley, then playing in Division Two. After five years at Ayresome Park and a brief spell playing in Hong Kong, Cochrane moved to Gillingham in October 1983.Never really established in the international team, indeed 13 of his caps came as a sub, he will however be remembered for his goal against England during the 1980 British Championships. The goal came nine minutes after he had come on as a sub, and just sixty seconds after the English had scored, to earn Northern Ireland a crucial 1-1 draw as they went on to win the Championships for the first time in 66 years.A hamstring injury picked up in a warm-up match against France ruled Cochrane out of the 1982 World Cup squad after playing in all but two of the qualifiers. Array-ne The city of Vancouver is trying to complete a seawall circuit around the downtown peninsula but it has to go through one of the city’s most historically rich and socially complex streets: Carrall Street. To complete the Seawall walk, Carrall Street will go through a makeover. It’s refered to as the Carrall Street Greenway Project.Carrall Street will be the final piece of a puzzle creating a waterfront walk going from Crab Park in Gastown, all along the Burrard Inlet, around Stanley Park to a seawall along False Creek through Livingston Park to the border of Chinatown and Downtown or International Village. The design is meant to attract tourists and encourage a vibrant street life for residents in the area.It may not be the most expensive project in the city, it’s only million, but it is one of the major undertakings by the city even when held against major infrastructure projects such as the .7 billion RAV line.Like the Woodwards development, the Carrall Street Greenway is situated on a site steeped with Vancouver’s history. Students at the school of architecture and landscape architecture at UBC have a studio class located on Carrall Street and their focus this semester will be studying and coming up with design solutions to connect the history, the sociology and the geography of the site through design.Carrall Street blogger Carol Sill, who lives and works in the neighbourhood and is a member of the Carrall Street Stewardship Committee says, Carrall Street is a microcosm of Vancouver.Part of the microcosm includes drugs.

King Solomon Hill is his latest outing and maybe the least accessible yet, but also probably the one I like the most. What happens here is that we get a twisted, mostly instrumental version of back porch folk/blues from a guy who knows more about the genre than the rest of us do together. But don’t be fooled to believe that we just get an updated version of what once was

After training so much in the spring the races Jeff and I did were good, but I really wanted to race 4coed, and once we got Brook Nunn onboard we just needed a 4th, which we found in Dave Russell, an experienced racer and navigator. So we switched out, me in the water, doing my dog-paddle holding onto the rope while Jeff Kayaked, and Brook and Dave just outright swam across… 150 foot rappell…Getting out of the freezing water we all felt pretty terrible, but warmed up pretty quickly and once the climb started realized that that warming up process would go on and on until it passed comfortable…. such it goes in AR sometimes….Feeling strong, towing Dave who had enough time apparently to take pictures! We lost a few hours on the long bike leg due to our problems, but did not realize that Jeff was very dehydrated and needed rest and fluids… About 2h into it, after a long beautiful rappell Jeff opted to quit the race, and I hiked out with him, while Brook and Dave continued unranked. It opened my eyes, and showed me pretty clearly where I wanted to be heading.

God gave Norah Vincent A gift: huge feet. Ned looked a lot like Norah but with accessories: a sports bra to keep her breasts under wraps, a manly new flat-top haircut, a weight-lifting routine to bulk out Norah’s girly shoulders, and a prosthetic penis to fill out his/her crotch. And Vincent hired a voice coach to teach her to talk like a guy–slowly, with as little expression as humanly possible, keeping those emotions under wraps and the hand gestures to a minimum. Ned also came with a dusting of fake stubble for Vincent’s smooth, pink, ladylike cheeks–"I was always thinking, Is it coming off? For Vincent, putting on Ned’s costume almost every morning was like descending into the ocean in a bathysphere or hacking her way into the interior of the Amazon jungle, only that jungle is all around us every day. Looking out from behind Ned’s stubble, she was surprised at how much sexual power women have over men, even when women may feel disempowered in other ways, and how icily they wield it.

Hours after a Baltimore judge ruled that a Maryland law banning same-sex marriage violates the state constitution, reporters cornered the typically loquacious Sen. James Brochin near his desk on the Senate floor. The issue of same-sex marriage arrived Friday like an unwelcome houseguest for many Maryland Democrats, who say only a quick reversal from the state’s highest court can keep the divisive issue from reshaping the 2006 campaign season. For years, elected officials in Maryland have been well-insulated from the highly combustible issue of same-sex marriage. Even if the issue is not put directly to Maryland voters — and the early betting in Annapolis is that it will not be — same-sex marriage is certain to receive elevated attention in coming months.

Ed Murray, D-Seattle, who champions the bill annually and saw it pass 61-37 in the House last year and pass this year 60-37 with one lawmaker absent. Cox, noting many religious groups oppose homosexuality, said the bill would give protection to homosexuals over the established freedom of religion. And he argued against comparing the bill to civil rights legislation, noting racial minority groups were denied voting rights, segregated and sent to internment camps. The bill, HB 2661, has been sent to the Senate housing committee for a public hearing Tuesday, and if it’s passed out of the committee, it will wait for a final vote on the Senate floor. There, Sen. Bill Finkbeiner, R-Kirkland, has said he will switch his vote and support the bill, which died 25-24 last year.
